It’s a wedding photographer’s dream when a couple takes a unique approach to the details of their wedding and reception. Courtney & Tyler had this mindset with their Tomball, TX wedding reception at Sandlewood Manor. Capturing their big day was even more enjoyable because of the personality they poured into their nuptials and following reception.

Courtney and Tyler opted to get ready and host their reception at Sandlewood Manor, but exchanged their vows at a local church. In case you’re unfamiliar, this venue is a stunning option for Texas couples searching for a classic location to host their wedding or reception. Fashioned after an antebellum mansion, it’s filled with classic details that make for a luxurious experience from start to finish. Courtney & her bridesmaids got ready for the big day from the comfort of the bridal suite while Tyler and his groomsmen enjoyed drinks and a game of pool from the groom’s quarters. Sandalwood Manor is truly a beautiful venue choice, but there is some planning required to execute the timeline appropriately.

Sandlewood Manor is a beautiful, sprawling estate with much to offer its guests, but it’s for this same reason that some planning is required for the timeline in regards to photos. Especially since Courtney & Tyler held their ceremony at a separate location altogether, we had to account for a bit of extra time for travel. The same is true for a wedding and reception both being held at Sandlewood because the amenities are spread out amongst the property. Timelines are of the utmost importance to ensure that you’re not sacrificing any of the shots you want included in your gallery! One other quick note for planning your wedding timeline at this venue: be sure to set aside a little extra time for tidying up the suites before taking getting ready photos. You’ll be grateful you did!

The Wagners’ was truly a dream wedding from start to finish! The variety in the locations for their wedding day combined with the unique details they included made for such a fun and beautiful gallery. The lace sleeves that Courtney chose added even more elegance to an already timeless wedding gown, and she took it up another notch when she and Tyler changed their wardrobes altogether. I loved that Tyler changed into a white tux for the second part of the evening. Courtney in her secondary satin gown and Tyler in his tux blended seamlessly with the art deco bar that would make Jay Gatsby himself swoon. They were more than willing to hop up onto the bar for even more personalized shots!

I could go on and on about the details Courtney and Tyler chose to include for personalized touches throughout their day, but one of my favorites was their sendoff. In recent years, sparkler send-offs have gained popularity but these two took it in another direction. They exited the venue surrounded by friends and family who showered them with streamers. The result was genuine laughter and smiles as they were driven away in a vintage Rolls-Royce. It was a day to remember for everyone in attendance!
